Improved Modeling of Mars' HDO Cycle Using a Mars' Global Climate Model

چکیده
HDO and the D/H ratio are essential to understand Mars past present climate, in particular with regard evolution through ages of Martian water cycle. We here new modeling developments cycle LMD GCM. The study aims at exploring behaviour its sensitivity ice clouds formulation fractionation by condensation. Our GCM simulations compared observations provided Atmospheric Chemistry Suite (ACS) on board ESA/Roscosmos Trace Gas Orbiter, reveal that model quite well reproduces temperature vapor fields, which offers a good basis for representing comparison also emphasizes importance modelling effect supersaturation, resulting from microphysical processes clouds, correctly account middle-to-upper atmosphere. This work comes jointly detailed measured profiles TGO/ACS outputs, conducted companion paper Rossi et al. 2022 (this issue).

Modeling Mars’ ionosphere with constraints from same‐day observations by Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Express
[1] We have analyzed a brief period of same‐day observations of the Martian ionosphere using data obtained in December 2004 from the Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) and Mars Express (MEX) radio occultation experiments. These data were taken shortly after sunrise under solstice conditions in both hemispheres, with MGS in the summer (northern) hemisphere at high latitudes while MEX was in the winter (...

متن کاملEarly Mars Climate Models
It is often stated that Mars and Earth had similar environmental conditions early in their history and that life might therefore have originated on Mars as well as on Earth. However, the atmospheric conditions required to produce and sustain a warm, wet climate on early Mars remain uncertain. State-of-the-art greenhouse models predict global mean surface temperatures early in Mars' history that...

متن کاملClouds in the Polar Night of Mars: Modeling and Observations with the Mars Climate Sounder
Introduction: Polar “cold spots” – regions of unusually low brightness temperature – affect the Martian climate by reducing the outgoing heat flux, which is balanced by the latent heat of CO2 sublimation. Since the Viking era, their cause has remained uncertain. Using radiometric observations from the Mars Climate Sounder (MCS) during southern winter, we previously reported that transient cold ...
